Are you at a loose end this Sunday? St John the Baptist – your Parish Church at the top of Redhill Road – is enjoying a Bring and Share Lunch at midday this Sunday. There is a Service in the church at 10 am followed by coffees in the church centre as usual. Then lunch with any who care to join us in the main hall. Either bring and share or simply bring yourself and have a meal with us. Come for all or any part … Service, Coffees or Lunch… and be sure of a warm welcome.
Looking ahead – next month there is to be a block of Sunday evening teaching sessions in the church, followed by a chance to raise questions snd discuss the topics.
Starting October 1st 7pm – 8.30 with coffee and cookies available on arrival.
We had a taster evening in August and the evenings will follow that same format. Terry and Raymond will be doing the teaching which is aimed at giving us confidence that the Bible is the inspired word of God with the answers to all of life’s questions, and is completely trustworthy.
Terry has been a Lay Minister or Reader at St John’s for many years. Raymond is a lay preacher, and retired solicitor/ university law lecturer, currently Church Warden at St John’s. Both have lived in the village for decades, so are familiar faces.
Any and all will be very welcome to join us, from other churches or no church at all.
Incidentally the church office is still unmanned, as we have no administrator, but the answerphone provides alternative numbers to relevant people for enquiries eg about funerals, baptisms, centre hire… 023 9241 0111.
