COMPTON FILM CLUB
Thursday 14th March
The Great Escaper
Thank you to everyone who has come along to film club so far this year, we’ve had two really good turnouts for the award-winning Korean film, Past Lives and the sparky independent Scrapper.
We are expecting another good audience for The Great Escaper on Thursday 14th March – staring Michael Caine and the late, great Glenda Jackson. ‘Michael Caine is brilliant as a D-Day veteran who sneaks out of his retirement home – but the late actress is a force of nature to the last.’ The Telegraph ‘Caine and Jackson and their ineffable class give this film some real grit: it’s a wonderful last hurrah for Jackson and there is something moving and even awe-inspiring in seeing these two British icons together.’ The Guardian
Come and join your friends and neighbours for a drink at 7.30pm, film starts at 8pm. We are also offering the chance to browse and borrow from our library of DVDs collected over the years. If you missed one of the films we have shown (and still have a DVD player!) do come and take a look.
Emily, Jude, Julia, Steph and David
Compton and Up Marden School Hall, School Lane, Compton, PO18 9EZ There is plenty of parking in the school grounds, the hall and pay-bar open at 7.30pm and the film showing starts at 8pm. Tickets £6
