TONIGHT!! COMPTON FILM CLUB***THE CRIME IS MINE*****

COMPTON FILM CLUB PRESENTS…
*THE CRIME IS MINE*
Wednesday 15th January
Please join us this evening for our screening of the French theatrical comedy, “The Crime is Mine”, a film about Madeleine, an impoverished ingénue actress in 1930s Paris who, after fighting off a lascivious producer, finds herself facing a murder charge.
“This jolly essay in feminist revisionism lip-smackingly relishes its theatricality, playing on different performance styles — with revered French screen grandees Fabrice Luchini and André Dussollier contributing tweedy patriarchal bluster to contrast with the breezier style of up-and-coming stars … this is elegant fun, the combination of stylistic glitter and antique archival dust making a surprisingly heady mix.” *The FT*
