From THE PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL OF IDSWORTH, ST HUBERT Finchdean Road, Old Idsworth, Waterlooville PO8 0BA (N.B. As there is not a postal service to the church, any posted mail should be addressed to The Church Centre, Blendworth Lane, Horndean, Waterlooville PO8 0AA)
ARE YOU ONE OF THE MANY PEOPLE WHO LOVE THE LITTLE CHURCH IN THE FIELD? St Hubert’s is loved by many and it is visited by thousands of people every year, but to survive it needs to remain relevant to the local community. This will enable it to stay open for future generations to visit and enjoy.
We are working on some new initiatives, and are very open to new ideas, but need to hear your views. We are happy to consider changes, for example, to the range of services that we provide and when they are held. Especially if you are one of those people whose first reaction to this letter is to say that “I would like to support my local Parish church … if only”, please come and tell us what “if only” is.
Please come to our local community meeting at St Hubert’s on Saturday 5th April 2025 from 3 to 4 pm.
Your views will inform the review our new Priest in Charge, Revd Joy Windsor, has asked her three Parishes (Blendworth, Chalton and Idsworth) to carry out and will help us plan the next phase in the 1,000-year history of St Hubert’s. In 2030, this will include the 700th anniversary of the nationally-important medieval wall paintings. We look forward to seeing you.
