Railway talk

Dear Friends,
As one of the local events to mark to 200-year anniversary of the Railway system in England, the Rowlands Castle Railway Group has organised a talk by David Jones of the Thomas Brassey Society on Wednesday 9th April at 2.00pm in the large Parish Hall.
Who is/was Thomas Brassey you ask? He was the ‘greatest railway builder in the World during the 19th Century’. In fact, 1 in 20 miles of the World railway network was built by him, including our Station in Rowlands Castle (he did have some ’help’ of course!!).

David is a longtime member of the Society, and will be giving other talks in and around the southern area during this anniversary year. This promises to be a very interesting insight into how the rail system was developed here and across the world, as well as our Station.
Not to be missed.
Tickets are £5.00 on the door, look forward to seeing you then.
