The village has always given very generous support to the Royal British Legion Poppy Collection but this has really excelled itself. The final sum collected for the ‘Poppy Season’, in November 2023 was a record £5,977.15, however the village raised a further £642.57 form the sale of the D-Day commemoration lapel pins on June 6th and Armed Forces Day on June 29th this year. The revised total for the Village is now £6,619.72, a truly remarkable achievement for so small a village, albeit a service orientated community.
