Musical Evening – Stansted House – This Thursday 14 March

Los Ladrones present a delightful duo of humorous Victorian ‘curtain-raiser’ operettas in the beautiful setting of the Music Room at Stansted House this Thursday 14 March at 7.30 pm:
The programme includes concert performances, in costume, of:
‘CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME’ by Bolton Rowe with music by Alfred Cellier (1872). A ‘musical proverb’ in one act.
‘THE ZOO’ by Bolton Rowe with songs by Arthur Sullivan (1875). A hilarious one act ‘musical folly’ with typical sprightly Sullivan music.
Bolton Rowe is the pen name of BC Stevenson (1839-1906), a notable English dramatist, lyricist and librettist.
