This is the last call for Scarecrow makers for our much-loved Scarecrow Trail, which takes place across the village during the October Half-Term (26 Oct to 3 Nov). It would be great to have more than 22 Scarecrows, which is our lowest number in the last 4 years!
This event is open to all villagers, including businesses and organisations. Last year, it sold over 300 maps, so for £10 a scarecrow, it is excellent value to get your business, organisation, or club noticed!
Don’t miss out on the chance to win our fantastic prizes:
* People’s Choice Trophy: £50 * Judge’s Pick Trophy: £50 * Best Eco Scarecrow Trophy: £50
To participate, follow these steps:
1. Choose an “Olympic event” e.g. Snowboarding, Discus, Javelin, Basketball or for more inspiration olympics.com/en/sports/ 2. Email scarecrows@stjohnspta.com with your chosen event and pay the £10 entry fee. 3. Build a Scarecrow and have it ready for Saturday 26th October. Check out the Scarecrow guide for help. stjohnschoolpta.sharepoint.com/:b:/s/StJohnsPTA/ER7wykxFKE1Cpw3smlojFZQBaaTzpkKJqNaLWYv–_igMQ?e=Lzgruh
The deadline for entries is fast approaching. Don’t miss the chance to take part in this fun event. Submit your entry by this Friday, 18th October.
This is a reminder that your involvement in creating scarecrows can help us raise a significant amount of money for our beloved village school. In previous years, we have usually raised £2,000 from this one event. For example, the money we raised last year funded the items below and more:
* Book bags for new students * New RE resources * Yr R rugs * Christmas crackers * New projector for the school hall * Pantomime performance held at the school * Replacement of cookery equipment for the children * Part-funded Year 6 Residential Trip * Year 6 SATs breakfast
