80th Anniversary of D-Day

A final reminder that there will be a short ceremony to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of D-Day on Thursday 6th June. We shall assemble by the flagpole on the Village Green at 10.45 am. Following a short Address to highlight the role the village played in this historic event, the Union Flag will be lowered and a one minutes silence observed. The weather is set to be fair and so please make an effort to attend to remember all those who participated especially those who lost their lives and others who were wounded.

Armed Forces Day this year will be observed on Saturday 29th June at 10.45 am, the ceremony at the flagpole will be marked by a short address, the Union Flag will be lowered, the Last Post will be played and the National Anthem will be sung to music performed by the |Hampshire and IoW Cadet Force Band.
